With a lifetime of foundational experience in the healthcare industry and an entrepreneurial spirit, Kathy McDermott offers a unique perspective to real estate. Prior to obtaining her real estate license, she established a successful private practice as a nurse practitioner and co-managed an environmental testing company. With one Master's Degree in Professional Counseling, a second Master's Degree in Nursing, and numerous honors, her strongest assets—effective communication, faithful integrity, and service to her community—have been well-honed.

Kathy’s personal development skills naturally transitioned into the real estate field. Having known Rita Bender for some years and after countless conversations, they developed a special relationship built on shared experiences and mutual respect. As a member of the Rita Bender Team and part of the Coach Family, Kathy feels valued and supported.

Service has always been central to who she is. Her volunteer work spans bereavement support groups, youth outreach, parish ministries, and community programs. Kathy views each client relationship through a lens of compassion and commitment.

Raising her family in Commack has given her deep familiarity with the Dix Hills, Commack, Greenlawn, and East Northport areas—not just as neighborhoods, but as communities where families thrive. Whether clients are buying, selling, or simply exploring their options, Kathy is available to guide and support them through as seamless a process as possible.
